It’s the last week of the ‘Eat Out to Help Out’ campaign and we hit up PicNic for a double date to see it out in style. Newly refurbed, reworked and now labelled ‘bar and restaurant’, this eatery is one of our joint favourite independents in Chester. The menu has been given a facelift to say the least (deli boards were so 2019) and now there is a variety of exquisite (and well-priced, may I add) offerings.
Because we’re weird and basically slowly merging into each other, we all picked similar meals. I have to write a spoiler here – I only took a photo of the starter because it was all so incredible, I dove straight in *insert piggy emoji*. Melt in your mouth chicken liver, beautifully roasted figs with parma ham, juicy steaks across the board, all followed by dessert again *insert piggy emoji*.
As one of our favourite haunts, we were happy to see it pull through these uncertain times and with a new look and feel to boot, it didn’t leave us hungry. So cheers to PicNic for an epic dining experience, we will be back next time with the girls, hopefully we will be more sophisticated than previous nights out with friends, but no promises.
