Chester Raft Race 2019
Date & Time

About This Event
The Chester Raft Race is an annual charity event taking place on the River Dee.
Each team builds their own raft (some more sturdily than others!) and there is much “messing about on the river” as the teams make their way along the course with friendly rivalries and shenanigans on the water. There are prizes for the best interpretation of the raft theme (this year it's "Chester Transport and Heritage Through the Ages"), as well as prizes for the fastest times down the river.
Watch the race from The Groves or the Suspension Bridge, then make your way down to the meadows where there is a BBQ, as well as other food stalls, children’s entertainment and a bar.
The event also features UK fly-board champion, Jay St John. His spectacular display of fly-boarding will start before the first rafts begin the race. Watch Jay reach incredible heights on his water jets and maybe spray an unfortunate raft team or two!
The event is free to watch (but we welcome your donations on the day) and if you'd like to take on a unique challenge and enter a raft into the race, then you can sign up via this link:
All proceeds and donations go to charity. This year's main charity is Claire House Children's Hospice.
We'd love to see you there!
