Carol started performing at Spoken Word open mic events in 2010, she also gradually started dabbling with comedy as well, which she now includes as part of her Spoken Word/Comedy show, which she was delighted to be able to perform at the 2015 UK Women in Comedy Festival.
Carol has also performed in venues, Festivals/Fringe events from Brighton to Edinburgh such as Ilkley, Buxton, Manchester, York, Camden and Edinburgh.
Carol received a 4 star Broadway Baby review for her 2014 Edinburgh Fringe show
October 2015 was a highlight for Carol when she was part of a performance around Spoken Word and Music called ‘The Open Sky’ which was performed in the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam.
In 2016 Carol performed her new show ‘Just Saying How It Is’ at the Great Yorkshire Fringe in York and Camden Fringe.
Carol performed at the Cheltenham Poetry Festival in April last year and also last September she performed at the Harms of Hate event at the Magna Science park in front of 600 Rotherham school children, she performed her specially written for the event poem No Labels.
Carol has several performances already booked in for 2019 and returns to Greater Manchester Fringe with a new Spoken Word/Comedy show in July.
Carol’s first poetry collection Words of Darkness and Light was published by Thynks Publications in 2014; she has also been published in several anthologies/journals over the last 9 years.
