Chef’s Table is my go-to celebration restaurant: anniversary, birthday, impressing-a-visiting-friend – the laid back atmosphere and food with style and substance is a winning combination every time.

Now their catering arm is partnering with local wedding venue specialist, Harthill Weddings to offer stand-out cuisine for receptions taking place at Curdlands Barn in Burwardsley, and the Penbedw Estate in Flintshire, North Wales.

It’s almost worth getting divorced just so I can take advantage, or maybe, less drastically, renewing my vows.

The award-winning restaurant Chef’s Table, opened in 2014, has helped to put Chester on the culinary map. Since opening five years ago, it’s received numerous accolades, including the Taste Cheshire Food and Drink Awards ‘Best Small Restaurant’ title for four years in a row.

Taking inspiration from the inventive Chef’s Table menu, catering options available at the two Harthill Weddings venues will include dishes such as cider roast spring chicken with wild garlic, potato risotto and confit yolk (below), and blood orange cake with candied blood orange and compressed rhubarb orange curd ice cream (above).

For those of us not approaching our big day anytime soon, or who have already had it, and ate okay-ish sausages and mash, all hope is not lost. Chef’s Table Events are just as happy to cater your dinner party for 12 or corporate event and, ‘can help you create a special themed menu to celebrate a particularly special occasion.’

And of course, the Chef’s Table restaurant still awaits you, tucked away on Music Hall Passage in the city centre. Their gluten free, dairy free, vegan and main menu is in constant flux, reflecting what’s fresh and in season and lunch is a steal at £18 for two courses and £22 for three.

At the time of writing, the below dishes are available (some just for dinner). And I’d be willing to put good money on the chance they’re all as good as they sound.
